Ace of Clubs London is looking for promoters who actually do the work.
We run guest lists and tables at the best clubs in Mayfair. Cirque Le Soir, The Box, Tape London, Funky Buddha, Toy Room, Drama, Luna, Dear Darling. Most nights of the week we have a table booked, a guest list to fill, and a room that needs the right people in it. Filling it is your job.
This is not standing at the door looking pretty. This is walking up to someone in a coffee shop, in a queue, at a bar, on the street, and knowing within a minute whether they fit the night you are putting together. It is the work behind why some promoters bring 20 guests on a Friday and others bring two.
What this role is
Self-employed contractor work. You invoice us. You earn per converted guest, per table booked, per bonus hit. Front of house means in-person, in Mayfair, on event nights and during the day. You decide which nights you work. You are responsible for scouting, hosting, and the photo at the end of the night that calculates what we owe you.
What you will do
- Source guests in person or online. Coffee shops, queues, bars, streets, Instagram DMs, WhatsApp threads. The best promoters use every channel.
- Host the table the venue provides on the night. Pour the drinks. Run the energy. Make the people at your table want to come back next week and bring two friends.
- Take the tally photo at the end of the night. Every guest, every comp, every table you booked, photographed and timestamped.
- Scout consistently. The promoters who bring real numbers are looking for the next guest every day they are awake. If we have to tell you to do this, the role is not for you.
How you earn
Commission only. The structure has three components, all paid on outcomes:
- Per converted guest who arrives at the venue. A tiered rate, with higher tiers for premium nights and venues.
- Per table you book. A percentage of net spend plus a share of any cover charge the client paid.
- Weekly bonus. Hit the Friday or Saturday guest threshold at a given venue and you earn a bonus that night. Bonuses accumulate. Consistent weeks compound.
Specific rates, tier breakdowns and bonus thresholds are walked through in detail with shortlisted applicants at the face-to-face. We do not publish them here because they shift between venues and seasons, and they are part of the working relationship rather than a public price list.
Beginners: 6 to 8 weeks of training at full commission rates. No salary, no draw. You must bring at least 5 guests in your first 2 weeks. Below that, the role is not yours.
Real talk on earnings. What you actually earn depends entirely on how many guests you bring and how often you bring them. We do not publish typical-earnings figures because they would be misleading without seeing your specific network and effort level. After your trial week we will sit down and work out what your first nights actually delivered and what a realistic ramp looks like for you. If you want a fixed salary, this is not the role.
Who succeeds here
- Comfortable approaching strangers in public and starting a conversation in under 30 seconds.
- Able to assess, within a short conversation, whether a guest's plans match the venue's table-spend expectations, and politely redirect when they do not.
- Familiar with London nightlife and confident at the door of a premium late-night venue.
- A natural host. People you bring out have a better night because you were there.
- Willing to follow the venue's published dress code and door policy during shift. The venue provides briefings and any required uniform items.
You do not need to be connected when you start. We teach you the venues, the door staff, the weekly schedule. Connections come from doing the work. Beginners who put the hours in beat experienced promoters who have stopped scouting.
Applicants from all backgrounds welcome.
Who this is not for
- People who want guaranteed hours, a salary, or a manager telling them what to do each week.
- People who think nightlife promotion is mostly partying and the work happens around it.
- People who plan to start in October and decide whether to keep going in November based on whether it felt easy.
- People who need someone to chase them for an update.
How this works week to week
- Availability submission. Send us your availability each Sunday so we can plan coverage. If you cannot make a confirmed shift, give 48 hours notice so we can re-cover. There is no penalty for declining a shift you have not yet confirmed.
- Substitution. If you cannot make a confirmed shift, you can propose a substitute. We reserve the right to reject substitutes who do not meet the venue's door standards. There is no penalty for proposing a substitute.
- Same-day responsiveness on event days. If you sourced people for Friday, you are reachable Friday until your guests have arrived.
- Brief every guest before they arrive. Dress code, entry rules, the venue's contact on the night.
The rules
- Same-night exclusivity. While you are working a confirmed AOC shift, you do not promote for a competing agency on the same night. Outside confirmed shift time, you are free to work with whoever you choose.
- You represent AOC when you wear our branding, attend our venues, or interact with our guests. Outside those contexts, your conduct is your own.
- Guest briefing. Before any guest you sourced arrives, brief them on the dress code, entry requirements, and the venue's behaviour standards. You will not knowingly invite an individual you are aware has been previously refused entry, ejected, or barred from the venue.
- Liability boundaries. You are responsible for your own acts and omissions, including the duty to brief and screen guests as above. You are not the occupier of the venue, you do not hold duties under the Occupiers' Liability Act 1957, and you are not required to indemnify Ace of Clubs London for the independent conduct of any guest or third party. The venue and its licensed door team handle on-site conduct.
- Public liability insurance. You will maintain public liability insurance of not less than £2,000,000 covering your own acts and omissions.
- Status. This agreement does not create an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between Ace of Clubs London and you. You operate as an independent contractor.
How to apply
